The Cultural Center is located at N1866 Hwy 151 in Brothertown. (GPS: N1866 Hwy 151, Chilton, WI 53014)

Our first picnic since our active move to become recognized as the 12th federally recognized Wisconsin Tribe was held on July 16, 1982 (42 years ago), with about 100 in attendance. There was a Craft sale and tribal raffle to raise funds. It featured a fish broil provided by our Brothertown members from Manitowoc. For reference, Brothertown has a long history of close-knit gatherings – Picnics and Homecomings, as the photo on our home page depicts the 1917 homecoming gathering in Quinney 107 years ago. These gatherings are focused on harmony, support, rekindling family ties, and meeting new Brothertown who made their long trek to reconnect with the Brothertown family.

This year (2024), we are at a true Brothertown milestone: our first picnic in recent times on our original Tribal lands, following our Council meeting at the Brothertown Indian Nation’s Cultural Center.

Many Brothertown members have fondly remembered the annual picnic as a peaceful time to sit without extended family, hear stories and unknown tales of our ancestors from our esteemed Elders, and reconnect with our extended family. This vital event reaffirms our common roots, goals, and family ties once a year.

Some past picnics…
